DRAMA MINISTRY

The Drama Ministry is an inter-generational program that encompasses both sacred and secular offerings. Its primary objective is to promote spiritual growth within the body of Christ, to provide relationship development and fun family entertainment; and to help people of all ages know Christ and make Him known.

MUSIC MINISTRY

We have a variety music programs at Spring Valley Presbyterian. If you enjoy music, contemporary or traditional, vocal or instrumental you will find a home in one of our music programs. We have choirs for children and adults, a praise band in our contemporary service, a hand bell choir with 5 octaves and we incorporate instrumentalists in our service several times each year.

MUSIC/DRAMA/CHOIR INFORMATION

  • CHILDREN'S CHOIR

    The Children's Choir  at SVPC offer age-appropriate music and include concentrations in diction, vocal performance, stage presence, understanding of lyrics, pronunciation, breathing and eventual reading of musical scores.  


    All music is carefully selected for it's Christian message, it's integrity of both lyric and expression and melodies.  All children at various times of the year are involved in worship, musicals and creative entertainment.


    All choirs rehearse in the choir room.  Please enter through the Atrium (covered entrance to the right of the facility), turn left and take a left at the hallway just before the sancturary entrance!

    Wednesdays, 6:15 - 7 PM

  • ADULT CHOIR

    This group sings at the traditional Sunday service. They also perform a cantata during the Christmas season. Age: 9th grade and above.   


    You do not need special training to participate, just a love of music and singing. Please join us.

     

    Schedule: Rehearsals are on Wednesdays, 7:15 - 8:15PM, September through May (7:15 -8:45 pm Nov. & Dec). During the summer we rehearse once a month.

  • HANDBELL CHOIR

    This group of musicians plays several times each year, typically in the Traditional Service. They play advanced, beginner and intermediate level work and are always looking for more ringers. Rehearsals are typically held on Sunday afternoons, September - May from 3:30 - 5:30PM. If you read music and are interested, please check our weekly Announcements for updates on practices.

  • PRAISE BAND

    Our praise band “Joyful Noise,” plays for the 8:30am contemporary service, Revelations. They play upbeat contemporary worship songs that will soon get you on your feet, clapping your hands. The music in the service is led by a band of musicians that include 3-5 singers, keyboard, guitars, bass, and drums. They rehearse on Monday evenings.
